HUMANITY

Talk of World War Three
Hangs in the air sinisterly
As nationalists and patriots
Prepare to oust the despots

The war paint has not yet dried
As threats galore are decried
A flex of muscles and military power
As threats increase hour after hour

Call it self-defence or pre-emptive
Reactionary, revenge or reatialiative
It's clear that at end of the day
Ultimately, it's humanity that'll pay

If one listens really attentively
To the dead souls crying ballistically
Pleading us to reflect on history
As nobody really gains true victory

All that show of military might
Just to discern wrong from right
When instead, a lyrical battle could
End human suffering for good

Our lands were once a pangea
One big island surrounded by water
But, inevitable radioactive decay
Sent us onto our separate way

Now we're more tribal than ever
Waving different flags of colour
Chanting anthems out of pride
Beating proud chests puffed out wide

But we can't deny that due to our DNA
We're entwined together for eternity
We all belong to the same fraternity
That I proudly like to call humanity
